My name is Juliette, I am PhD researcher in sociology at the European University Institute in Florence. Prior to my PhD, I completed an MSc in sociology at the University of Oxford. I have also been a visiting researcher at Sciences Po, and New York University.

My research examines how political attitudes and behaviours diffuse through migrants, and how this shapes collective action and public opinion in receiving communities.

My PhD thesis studies these dynamics through three case studies on: (1) the diffusion of protest through historical emigration—published in the American Journal of Sociology (2) refugee arrivals shaping local advocacy for distant political causes; and (3) first-hand accounts from returning soldiers shaping foreign opinion on foreign conflicts.

More broadly, I am interested in Protest and Collective Action, Migration, Social Networks, and Diffusion.
